Just acquired, new Texas deer hunting lease. Texas Trophy Whitetails, LLC is excited to offer free range trophy whitetail deer hunting on this 10 square mile, Sutton County ranch. This low fence ranch is loaded with whitetail deer, axis deer, and Rio Grande turkey. Starting January, 2021 we'll have exclusive hunting rights to this tremendous Hill Country ranch under MLDP (managed land deer permits). This allows us to hunt a extended period of time for whitetail deer, through the end of February. That's 7 more weeks of whitetail hunting after our general season ends here in the North zone.
We harvested some great whitetail bucks from the property in January last season. Finding mature, trophy class bucks wasn't a problem as this ranch has a abundance of old mature bucks. We hunted the property for Axis deer the last two Summers and have taken some Gold Medal bucks that would rank in the top 10 SCI, including the new SCI muzzleloader World Record axis buck. So we know this ranch produces big deer.
The ranch offers quality food. The second largest drainage in Sutton County runs through the heart of the property, it retains moisture through some of the dry months that is critical for natural forage to help promote antler growth. Several food plots and 28 water troughs provide additional support to hold a large number of whitetail deer and keep them healthy, and well fed.
We are now offering limited trophy whitetail hunts, and lots of management whitetail, and doe hunts to keep the deer numbers in check. With a long season, archery starting in October, and rifle season starting in November through February, we feel confident we will reach our goals and provide a first class whitetail hunt while doing so. We only guided 4 whitetail trophy hunters last season on this ranch. Three harvested great bucks, the other hunter fired 3 shots at a buck 70 yards away on two different occasions and didn't get the buck.
The ranch has it's own 3 bedroom, 2 bath lodge right on the property. The ranch is located only 5 miles from our main lodge. This allows us to house hunters in either lodge and still hunt all our properties during your hunting trip to give you the best chance for success.
